Why should I buy from Sonali Solar?
Sonali Solar produces competitively priced photovoltaic modules without compromising on quality. We have added a brand new, 100 MW manufacturing line to our plant that includes a first of a kind Electroluminescence tester in Detroit, MI. This allows us to find the types of micro-cracks that most manufacturers are incapable of detecting, leading to improved product quality and reliability manufacturers are incapable of detecting, leading to improved product.

Where are your panels manufactured?
Our manufacturing facility is located in the Surat Special Economic Zone Detroit, MI. Operating in a Special Economic Zone provides us with tax benefits that we can pass on to our customers in the form of lower prices.

What kind of warranty do you provide?
Our panels are backed by a 10 year guarantee on material and workmanship and a 25 year guarantee on minimum power output. We also warrant that our customer will receive 100% of the panel's rated power at the time of purchase.

Can you manufacture glass to glass modules for building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) applications.?
Yes, our state-of-the-art manufacturing line can produce glass to glass modules for BIPV applications.

What is solar energy?
Solar Energy is the generation of electricity from sunlight. Solar energy excites the electrons in the solar cell and electricity is produced. The electricity is produced in a DC current and an inverter is needed to convert the electricity into AC current. Solar power can be connected to a utility grid or backed up with batteries.

How do solar photovoltaic cells work?
Photovoltaic cells are comprised of a semiconductor material, typically silicon. To activate the movement of the electrons elements of phosphorous and boron are added to the silicon to create conductivity within the cell. The electrons move across the cell when activated by the sunlight’s energy into the electrical circuit hooked up to the solar panel.

How long will the PV modules last?
Our solar panels are backed by a 25 year power output guarantee. As a manufacturer this shows our faith in the durability and reliability of our modules. Although our warranty is for 25 years the modules are expected to last up to 40-50 years.

If I move, can I take my solar system?
You can certainly take your solar system with you however it’s likely better to leave it. Solar panels increase the resale value of the property.

What is net-metering?
This is a method of measuring the difference between the energy you purchase from your utility company and energy you generate and feed to the grid. Solar energy fed to the grid spins the meter backwards, thereby finally giving a net figure of usage from the grid.

What are the environmental benefits?
The major benefits of using a solar system are the reduction of waste, higher efficiency usage of electricity, conservation of fossil fuels and reduction of pollutants.

What is the maintenance required for the PV panels?
PV panels are virtually maintenance free, all they need is to be cleaned. However this is mostly done by the rain. If necessary you can even hose the modules down. Wash them in the morning or evening when they are not hot to prevent thermal shock.

How do I know what system size I need?
For starters, our assistance will make this very easy for you as we will give you all the needed information.
A team of installers will come down and complete a site survey to give a proper estimate. The solar system size will be based on the total number of kilowatt-hours your household used in the last 12 months.

How will the weather affect my solar system?
Solar electric systems are designed to withstand extreme weather conditions. Such as extreme temperatures, lightning, winds up to 80 mph and snow are all conditions the system can handle.

How strong are the solar panels?
Our panels are certified by ETL to meet UL 1703 standards and are fully tested to withstand wind, hail, sleet and snow.

When was Solar Energy discovered?
In 1838, a man named Edmund Becquerel observed and published his findings about the nature of materials to turn sunlight into energy. Although his discovery was found interesting by his peers it was not pursued in greater detail. In the 1880s scientists made solar cells of selenium. In the mid 1950s, Calvin Fuller, Gerald Pearson and Daryl Chaplin of Bell Laboratories discovered silicon as a semi-conductor which led to the construction of a solar panel.

What if I need to replace my roof?
In most cases the solar system can be easily removed and reinstalled on your new roof.

What incentives are available to reduce my solar installation cost?
One of our trained specialists will be able to inform you of the incentives available to you in your area. Also to make this process simple for you, we will provide you with all of the necessary paperwork for application.

Will a solar system affect the value of my house?
A solar system has been known to increase the owner’s home value.

Do your solar panels have a warranty?
Our product is durable and has a lifetime of 25 years backed with a warranty. We guarantee our customer will receive 100% of the panel’s rated power at the time of purchase.
